We had Wendy’s baby blessing the Sunday before Christmas.
It was really wonderful. I was especially grateful to the people who were able to be there for the blessing. I knew we wouldn’t have lots of family there since we live so far away, so I was extra grateful for these guys who made the long trip.
Before Wendy was even born, I started thinking about her blessing dress. There are plenty of places to buy a white baby dress, but for some reason I got it in my head that maybe I should try making it. Which was, truthfully, pretty dumb because I am not at all well versed in clothes making.
But I decided that I’d give it a shot and luckily I was able to find this tutorial at See Kate Sew that really gave me some firm direction.
I changed up a few things like the hem, fabric and bow, but having the pattern was a huge help!
The dress isnt perfect, but I really liked how it turned out! And I seriously had so much fun making it. It didn’t take a super long time and with baby clothes you don’t have to worry too much about fit, so my sewing machine and I were able to part ways on good terms…which I can’t say for all projects…
And now I can officially have 10 more baby girls because I definitely bought waaaaay too much fabric…
Way to go! I really want to become an expert in clothes making, but it’s scary!!
